Our Founder, Joe Alvarez, began his journey studying Environmental Science at Fordham University in New York City and graduating in May of 2017. Since then, he's worked as a private organic gardener, an aquaponic farmer, built greenhouses, maintained greenhouses, and designed several custom hydroponic growing systems. Most of Joe's experience comes from working at Dayton Valley Aquaponics, the country's second-largest aquaponic vegetable farm, located in Nevada near Lake Tahoe. Dayton Valley Aquaponics trained Joe as a Production and Facilities Assistant where he honed his skills in all aspects of Controlled Environment Agriculture but mainly focused on growing microgreens. Upon returning from Nevada, Joe's vision is to take the knowledge and skills back to the East Coast and use them to change the food game forever.
